Fairy Blog Mother

Ungrateful Kids:

Why the hell do you try to do anything special for them in the first place? Trying to make things for them is super useless.  I learned the true meaning of the saying...."No good deed goes unpunished." From now on, there will be no special anything made for any special occasions in this house. It's called box made or Wal-Mart made. That's how you like it, that's how you are going to get it. Screw it....I'm done.

PMS:

Seriously, whose effing idea was this? I don't care if this is what the religious nuts say is what we get because Eve bit the forbidden fruit. Nothing happened to the world til Adam followed her lead and bit the damned thing too, so where is his pain and suffering? And the first wise ass who decides to say that putting up with us is enough pain and suffering is going to be kicked so far back in time that they can ask their creator that question himself.

Medication side effects:
Some can be good, like the one that helped for one second and made me loose weight....then there are those that will make you have goofy ass dreams all the effing time and make you wonder who the hell you are! Why would any sane person dream these dreams? I mean for real, even Steven King wouldn't touch these things with a ten foot pole!

And dry mouth....all day long I have a 20 ounce drink beside me and I am guzzling like I have been in a desert for 40 days and 40 nights without a drop to drink. Still I can't get enough to drink because there is a cotton boll in my mouth. No, it has nothing to do with diabetes, I am healthy in that aspect for right now.

And sore boobs.....what a ridiculous side effect! Hold on, did I say sore boobs? I meant sore boob...ARGH!

H1N1 fanatics:

I know, I am bound to piss someone off with this, and I just don't care. I know that H1N1 is serious. It's all around us and has hit the family of one of our dear friends. But everyone is freaking out. Spraying everything you come in contact with, using a gallon of hand sanitizer a day, and running to the doctor every single time you cough is not going to help you. Chill out, the stress is not good for your body or your immune system. Take precautions, but don't over react. And what about corporate idiots who get the effing flu shot when BIG nobodies like me can't get close to one!

I could go on.....but I don't think anyone is reading anymore......

I would sell my soul for a NOOK, would you? - Contest ends 12/24/09

3:52 PM Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »

You really need to NOT enter this contest....cause if you do then I will end up having more competition....and that will SUCK!.....but if you have to....go ahead. Just think about it. An e-reader....of your choice. I am now stuck on the Nook. I want it and you can't have it.  :)

Glade® Sense & Spray™ Automatic Freshener Review

8:42 PM Posted In , Edit This 1 Comment »
As many of you know I have the following pets:
  • 2 dogs
  • 4 cats
  • 1 bird
  • 20 fish (or so)
So when BzzAgent sent me an invitation to try the Glade® Sense & Spray™ Automatic Freshener I jumped at the chance. I mean literally jumped at it. I was scared that it was going to fill up too quickly and I wouldn't get a chance to try it. And that would have made me very sad.  :( But I got there in time and BzzAgent sent me a kit...and YEAH!

It's been absolutely wonderful. We placed it right by the front door so when people come in, it will spay a nice blast of fresh scent, and there will not be any "animal" smell. So far some of the comments we have gotten have been:

"Wow, A**** your house smells good. We have two cats and our house smells funny." (Friend of my daughter - 15 years old)

"Tammers did you just get up?"
"No, why?"
"Well I just got this whiff of something fresh, and thought you sprayed something."
"Nope, just my Glade® Sense & Spray™ Automatic Freshener I got from BzzAgent."
         (mother-in-law)

"Oooo, are you burning a candle hun?"
"Nope, just the Glade® Sense & Spray™ Automatic Freshener we got the in the mail today!"
          (my fiance)

So everyone is really enjoying the scent and the way the house smells. It's been great having it here. I've passed out the coupons that I've been given and everyone is so excited.

I'm stuck on Glue.....luckily it hasn't gotten on my books yet...

11:38 AM Posted In , , , Edit This 2 Comments »
Well as most of you know...I'm a Glue addict! It's no lie....I've been with them almost since the beginning. I've got the shirt and have been asked many times if I like to sniff Glue since I have a shirt that says but alas, if I could sniff Glue I would! But what Glue has done for me, is better than being able to sniff....check it out!

I have to admit, I like being known as a guru. At Champagne Books I am the Publicity Guru, and with Glue, they let me be a Guru too, but of many other things. I get stickers that show me, and others, how much of a Guru I am! Right now, I am a Guru of only 55 things, I may have to change that. Take a look at what I mean: (Darn Alex....thinks he knows everything! We love you Alex and you know it...)

If you haven't noticed, I'm a huge fan of Twilight, and the whole series. I can't wait for New Moon to come out in theaters and I have read all but the 4th book of the series. See the little boxes that are in my paragraph? Hover over the little boxes! Guess what, you have just experienced some of the joy of Glue even if you don't have Glue installed on your browser. (I told you I love Glue!)

Let's see what Glue has to say a little: I'm so excited.....I want to play with the little blue boxes too.......

GetGlue.com is a social recommendation network for interests like books, music, and movies. GetGlue.com offers a stream of suggestions based on user interests, friends activity and things that are popular with everyone. Users can also add GetGlue to their browser to more quickly build their taste profile and get suggestions in context, on hundreds of popular sites like Amazon, Last.fm, Netflix, Wine.com and Citysearch.

Today, we are announcing the launch of GetGlue.com, featuring personalized suggestion stream, rich user profiles, and competetive stickers and Guru awards. There is also an updated version of the GetGlue add-on for Firefox:

  1. 1. Suggestions Stream: A continuous stream of suggestions is generated for the users based on what they liked, friend's favorites and everyone's popular.
  2. 2. GetGlue Profiles: New profiles make it easy for users to save and share their favorite books, music and movies.
  3. 3. Stickers and Guru: Users can earn stickers for participating and get recognized as a Guru for things they actively comment on.
  4. 4. Browser Addon: Glue appears around the web providing in context suggestions, friend reviews, clips, and a way to quickly build a taste profile.
~

See, aren't you starting to love Glue too? Don't you wish you could sniff it? I know my whole family thinks that I am a little overboard about the whole Glue thing, but really...It's all Glue's fault. They were the best at the beginning and then they kept getting better. My favorite thing about them? They listen to their end users! No seriously, they do. I've made suggestions that I have actually seen implemented in the updates....have you seen the thumbs down? I know I had suggested that, though I am sure that I was not the only one....so that shows me that they actually listen. WHAT? You didn't see the thumbs down. OK......hold on.

Fraser likes to show off with all the things he likes.....but don't tell him I told you that.....**giggle** I'm glad that they don't have the things we dislike up there....I would look like Ms. Scrooge up there. :)

I'm going to leave you with a few FAQ that Glue sent along and then I'm outie....(yes I have been hanging around my 16 year old too much) I want to go play with glue some more. I didn't realize you could go do this:

FAQ

1. What things/sites does Glue work on?
This release of Glue automatically recognizes books, movies, music, artists, stars, stocks, restaurants and wine on hundreds of popular sites around the web. Glue works on Amazon, Netflix, Last.fm, Rhapsody, IMDB, Citysearch, Wine.com just to name a few. Here is a full list of Glue supported sites.

2. How does Glue recognize things?
Glue uses top-down semantic recognition technology to identify everyday things in pages around the web. A mix of client-side and server-side algorithms are used to create a unique key that correlates, for example, a book on Amazon as the same book on Barnes and Noble and other book sites. Using this approach Glue rewires the web of pages into the web of things and facilitates a new way for people to connect.

3. How does Glue handle privacy and data security?
AdaptiveBlue is committed to privacy and puts the users in control of their data. Glue only focuses on things like books, music and movies, it is not active on other pages. The user information is stored securely using Amazon S3 and SimpleDB - popular and trusted Amazon Web Services. The users own their information and are able, at any time, to delete it from the system. AdaptiveBlue does not sell personal or aggregate information about the system. For more on this topic, please visit our Privacy Policy page.

4. How does Glue leverage the existing Social Graph?
Glue enables users to automatically connect with their Twitter and Facebook friends. The user can choose to automatically sync her friends from other social networks. So when a new friend joins Glue or new relationship is created on Facebook or Twitter there is a mirror relationship in Glue.

I'm a sucker.....
